Curb Your Enthusiasm (Season 4) DVD Review

Nominated for 20 Emmys and winner of a Golden Globe for Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy), Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the more clever and hilarious shows on TV. The HBO original series is the brainchild of Seinfeld co-creator and writer Larry David, whose life maintains a peculiar resemblance to the quasi-fictional George Costanza. And just like George Costanza and his neurotically-low self-esteem (i.e. "God doesn't want me to be successful), Curb Your Enthusiasm propagates a Murphy's Law theme of "what can go wrong will go wrong". It's a true-to-life reality show about nothing in which every episode is certain to cause comedy connoisseurs everywhere to tremble in enthusiastic anticipation

Curb Your Enthusiasm centers around the actual life of Larry David - post-Seinfeld and living the high life in Los Angeles. Just like Larry's other successful TV venture, the show doesn't focus entirely on plot, instead following the mundane and routine adventures of a famous Hollywood insider. And just like his alter-ego George Constanza, Larry often witnesses simple acts and gestures on his part snowball into a series of misunderstandings and embarrassing situations. Accompanying Larry on his daily adventures are his wife Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) and his manager Jeff Greene (Jeff Garlin) as well as a host of Hollywood and Broadway celebrities who make regular guest appearances... Blurring the line between fiction and reality, Curb Your Enthusiasm is the perfect sequel to Seinfeld. In a nutshell, it's a glimpse of what would've been had Jerry and George's pilot been picked up by NBC (which ultimately raises the question - who wouldn't love a show about a man sentenced to be another man's butler?)

The Curb Your Enthusiasm (Season 4) DVD features a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere "Mel's Offer" in which Larry goes to a karaoke bar where Mel Brooks is hanging out. When Larry sings, Mel is so thoroughly impressed that he asks Larry to star in his next Broadway musical production Other notable episodes from Season 4 include "Ben's Birthday Party" in which Larry gets into a fight with Ben Stiller when he refuses to sing 'Happy Birthday' to him, and "Opening Night" in which Larry and the show travel to New York City for his opening night as the star of The Producers

Below is a list of episodes included on the Curb Your Enthusiasm (Season 4) DVD:

Episode 31 (Mel's Offer) Air Date: 01-04-2004
Episode 32 (Ben's Birthday Party) Air Date: 01-11-2004

Check It? Or Carry It On? - A Review Of Travel Restrictions Affecting Your Vacation To Aruba

After you have planned your vacation to Aruba, you may be wondering what to pack. To ensure that you dont experience any unwelcome surprises at either your departing airport or the Aruba Airport, make note of the guidelines in this article. The following is a convenient outline of what you can and cannot pack when traveling to Aruba and some added travel tips to make your vacation as enjoyable as possible.

First, make sure you pack all your important personal belongings such as travel documents, personal identification and medications in your carry-on luggage. Do not place locks on your carry-on baggage, as this could cause unnecessary delays when passing through screening.

Try to arrive at your departing airport three hours before the scheduled flight time. When you are ready to fly home, you must also allot approximately three hours for check-in and screening at the Aruba Airport, especially if your return flight is between 11 AM and 3 PM.

Due to recent concerns, liquids, gels and aerosols are no longer allowed in the carry-on baggage of all travelers on flights arriving to, traveling within or departing from the United States. Effective August 11, 2006, the following items must be placed in your checked baggage when traveling to Aruba, until further notice from the U.S. government:

All beverages and liquid food items such as yogurt

Skin lotions, creams or balms including suntan lotion and hand sanitizing products

Tooth Paste

Mouthwash

Shampoo

Hair gels and pomades

Hair spray or any other type of aerosol products

Liquid cosmetics such as lip gloss and mascara

Obviously, there are some exceptions to the restriction on liquids and gels. The following items are allowed in carry-on baggage when traveling to Aruba, but make note of the documentation and packaging that some items may require:

Prescription medicine - medication or dispenser must be properly marked with a professionally printed label or pharmaceutical label identifying the medication or the manufacturer's name. If for some reason you don't have a professionally printed label, you must obtain a doctor's note.

Non-prescription saline solution and eye care products (under 4 ounces per container)

Liquid insulin and dispensing products for diabetic passengers (under 5 ounces per container) must be properly marked with a professionally printed or pharmaceutical label identifying the medication or the manufacturer's name

Solid cosmetics and personal hygiene items including lipstick in a tube, solid deodorant and lip balm

Baby formula, milk and food - only allowed if a baby or small child is traveling with you

Gels, saline solutions or other liquids worn as detachable items used to augment portions of the body for medical or cosmetic reasons includes gel bras.

Duty free liquor, perfume and cosmetics items purchased within the airport terminal areas will given to you by the duty free operator after reclaiming your checked luggage.

If you are concerned about any item packed in your carry-on baggage, contact your travel agent or airline before arriving at the airport or simply ask personnel at the time of check-in. You can still place the above-mentioned restricted items in your checked baggage before proceeding to security screening.

It is also suggested that you try to minimize the amount of metal you wear. Large belt buckles, clothing with metal buttons, some jewelry and metal toed or heeled footwear can set off security checkpoint metal detectors. This will require additional searches, slowing you and other travelers down. Therefore, while you are waiting in line, it is recommended that place your keys, jewelry or watches, coins, belts and any other metal items in your carry-on baggage until you clear security. You will also be asked to remove your shoes at the checkpoint and place them in a tray to be x-rayed.

As was the case before the new regulations in August, electronic devices such as mobile phones, PDAs, cameras, CD and MP3 players are still allowed in carry-on luggage. However, be prepared to remove your laptop computer from its case and place it on the x-ray belt by itself. It is generally recommended to attach a name and contact information label to the bottom of your laptop in case any confusion arises passing through security. Also, it is still advised that you pack all film in your carry-on luggage. If you have any concerns about your film going through the x-ray system, you can request that it be hand-inspected by a security screener.

When planning your vacation to Aruba, it is also very important to note that effective January 8, 2007, the U.S. Government will require passports for all air and sea travel to and/or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Bermuda and The Bahamas. It is advised to allow six to eight weeks to process passport applications before your vacation to Aruba.

The Smart Way To Buy A Vehicle

Believe it or not, it is a skill to buy the right vehicle, at a good or better price than what a particular vehicle is sold for in the market.

Before you do anything else, apply for a bank loan to purchase a new vehicle, find out what is your maximum loan amount your bank or any lender is willing to lend you. Once you know how much your loan approval is, then you are ready to start looking for the car you want.

Decide on the vehicle you will truly be happy or at the least very satisfied with, so that the notes will not feel painful. This is very important.

Will your next vehicle be a truck, a car, a SUV? Whichever type of vehicle you prefer start comparing different makes and models and get a general idea of what they are worth in the market. One easy way to do this is by visiting the Kelly Blue Book online at: http://www.kbb.com. Here you can check what the MSRP value is (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, is the price set by the manufacturer).

Once you have a check from your lender, that check will good as cash at the dealership. This will give you buying power. You will be able to get the best possible cash on a vehicle you really like.

As you shop around do not let car salesmen to intimidate you, remember, you have done your home work, you have research the market value for the car you want, you know a fair price down to the miles of it. Now you have a check in hand and can negotiate a cash deal. Make cash offers and see what reactions you get from salesman. Do not give any information to salesman.

Once you are down to a few dealers where you will buy your car from, go to each, or call each of them on the phone, work with the ones that have a decent sense of customer service and who are willing to work with you, and via telephone make a cash offer for one of the vehicle you are looking for. For instance, you have researched a vehicle that easily sells for $15K or $16K with less than 30K miles. Offer $12K cash and gauge each of their reactions and see what happens. Its not for nothing that Cash still the reigning king!

Black & White CZ Jewelry Combines Classic Contrast With Modern Style

For some time now, one of the hottest trends in jewelry has been that of the black and white diamond combination. From rings to earrings and pendants to bracelets, this classic color combo has quickly become a popular fashion statement in fine jewelry. For those who know jewelry prices, choosing these designs can often mean letting go of some serious cash. However, for the woman who enjoys keeping up with current trends without spending a fortune, cubic zirconia designs may be the way to go.

So, just what makes the black and white diamond combination such a popular trend in jewelry? Its simple. The black and white color combo has long been a classic in apparel, which makes it only natural that this trend would translate over into the world of high-end jewelry design. The beauty of diamonds, however, is the fact that they can be worn as both formal and casual accessories. You may also be glad to know that the same is true with cubic zirconia designs. Whether you are pairing your jewelry with a formal dress, a business suit or your favorite white t-shirt and jeans, you will look stunning. If you really want to shine, consider placing a simulated diamond pin into your hairstyle by attaching it to a band and situating it in such a way that it looks like a hair accessory.

One of the greatest benefits of cubic zirconia jewelry is that you can wear it every day and not have to worry about it in the same way as you would a genuine diamond accessory. For instance, if you purchase a sterling silver ring featuring black and white cubic zirconia, you are getting the look of a diamond ring without spending a large amount of money. If you were to remove this ring to wash your hands and accidentally leave it behind in a public restroom, you wouldnt be nearly as upset as if it were a genuine diamond ring that you had just left behind. Sure, you love the ring and you will miss it. But, can you replace it easier than the same design in genuine diamonds? Probably so, and the reason is because cubic zirconia jewelry is much more affordable.

Just like genuine diamonds, cubic zirconia designs are available in both sterling silver and gold. Many who enjoy the black and white gemstone color combination prefer a white metal, such as sterling silver, because of how it appears when paired with this trendy duo. Sterling silver, itself, is a reflective metal that imitates white gold and/or platinum. When paired with black and white simulated diamonds, the look becomes the perfect marriage of classic meets modern in this trendy design.

Almost Diamonds, a popular online retailer specializing in sterling silver jewelry, has a complete line of items featuring cubic zirconia and genuine gemstones in a variety of styles to choose from. If you are looking to maximize your jewelry collection without minimizing your wallet, consider the affordable option of sterling silver. Not only is this a precious metal thats designed to last forever, but it also is an economical way to get the look of diamonds in platinum or white gold without spending a fortune.

Taking The Family On Holidays

Avid travelers are full of wanderlust and refuse to give up their love for exploring the world, even when busy raising a family. And why should they? Traveling with children can be a joy and taking the family on holidays near and far can produce a lifetime of unforgettable memories.

Its true, however, that enjoying a vacation with kids is a bit different than an all-adult excursion. Thats not necessarily a bad thing! Traveling with children requires a bit more thought and you may be slightly restricted as to your choice of destination. But all the other perks of introducing your children to different world cultures far outweigh the sacrifices you may need to make until they grow up and you can venture off on your own once again.

Finding the Best Fit for Your Family

Where you choose to take your family on holiday can depend on lots of factors including your preference of activities, like sightseeing, sporting/active pursuits, cultural opportunities, and so forth. Begin your search for a good holiday destination by considering the things youd like to do while youre away from home. These may be activities you enjoy on a regular basis or things you rarely get to do except when youre on vacation. Are you:

An adventurous family? If so, choose a destination where you can participate in fun and daring activities like trekking, climbing, diving, jet boating, and camping under the stars. (Provided the age of your children can support these activities.) You may be just the right family for an African safari or a trip to South Americas Andes Mountains. Closer to home, your family may be ideal for a camping trip through the National Parks or a whitewater rafting trip down the Colorado River.

An artsy, cultural family? If so, select a vacation destination that can provide your fill of cultural activities. Big cities are always ideal, because you can usually find plenty of museums, theaters, concert venues, and such. Try one of the great cities of North America, like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, or Vancouver. Or, if you prefer, choose a wonderful, historic European city, like London, Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Moscow, Barcelona, or Budapest. All have something a little different to offer.

A fun-loving family? If so, youll want to travel to a destination where your family can play together from morning til night. Maybe you enjoy amusement and water parks, taking in a local major league sporting event, playing volleyball on the beach, tobogganing through the snow, or taking part in fun and unique local festivals. There are a number of wonderful places for fun-seeking families to visit including resorts like Walt Disney World or the other Disney properties, the wacky beaches of Southern California, or even a quaint ski village in the Alps. The beauty of being a fun-loving family is that you can probably turn just about any vacation into a rollicking good time for all!

Age-Appropriate Holidays

The ages of your kids will help determine where you head for your next holiday. Teenagers can do just about anything.but will they? Be sure you allow your fickle teenager to be a part of the planning so that when you arrive at your destination, theyll be looking forward to participating in the activities theyve read about during the planning process. Be ready to compromise. Your teens first choice may not be yours, but perhaps you can find a destination that has a little something for both of you.

Traveling with elementary school-aged children can be a treat! Unlike their teen counterparts, theyre excited about everything, eager to learn, and willing to try new things. Kids from about age 7 to 12 are the easiest with whom to travel as theyll make the most of their new adventures.

Trips with babies and toddlers can be challenging. Theres so much to plan before you depart and it often seems as if you need to carry the entire house with you on your trip. Remember, unless youre going to a third-world country, you can buy diapers and other essentials when you reach your destination. Pack lightly and choose a simple destination, like a beach, where you can enjoy fun in the sun. All-inclusive resorts, found in places like the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, often have special programs for toddlers and also offer certified in-room babysitting services so that parents can enjoy a dinner or evening alone.

Remember not to push your kids too far. Little ones have a limit. So do teenagers. When youre tempted to do just one more museum or spend just a half-hour more in the sun, consult your kid. If theyve already said theyre tired or hot or cold, call it a day. Your trip will run much more smoothly when your children are happy.

Food

While domestic travel rarely presents a problem when it comes to food even for the pickiest of eaters international destinations where the food is foreign can be a real challenge for parents traveling with children.

Even the well-traveled child has likes and dislikes and you cant expect your child to go without a meal. Thats why its always best to bring along a few staples just in case. Peanut butter is always a good bet, as is cereal, especially the small boxes that fit easily in your suitcase. Crackers work well, too. Any of those foods can be eaten at any meal and their familiarity will provide comfort to a child whos overwhelmed by the foreign-ness of the food on the table in front of them.

Also be sure that the food and water your child is consuming is safe. Kids are more prone than adults to intestinal disorders caused by impure water and other food-related concerns. Theres nothing worse than a sick kid in a foreign country!

Plan Well

Truly, good planning can be the difference between a good holiday and a disastrous one. When youre traveling with adults, its okay to leave things to chance, like a hotel reservation or a train ticket. With a family, however, the more complete your plans, the better.

That doesnt mean, of course, that you need to schedule every minute of every day. Kids are spontaneous and just when you think an activity or attraction might consume 15 minutes of your time, your children may love it and you may wind up spending an hour or two at that particular task. Go with the flow and let your children take the lead. Thanks to them, you may discover things youd have never found on your own!

Answering Inappropriate Interview Questions

When you look for a job in Canada, you will have to attend to the so called job interviews.

Very often, you will be asked some inappropriate questions. You definitely need to know how to answer these questions so that you can land the job of your dreams in Canada!

Normally, hiring decisions can not be based on certain things, such as marital status, race, religion, etc. For this reason, questions pertaining to this topic are usually considered off limits by most experienced interviewers. They realize theres no reason to ask a candidate if he or she goes to church or if they have reliable child care.

The bad news for you is that not all of the interviewers you are going to encounter will be experienced. Some will be managers or supervisors who are more comfortable giving direction than asking questions. Others just wont see the potential harm in asking personal questions such as these.

Before we discuss how to deal with these types of questions, let me give you an idea of what topics are generally accepted as being inappropriate during an interview:

Questions about your ethnicity, culture, or parental background
Questions about your marital status or sexual preference
Questions about your race and gender
Questions about your religion or your religious practices
Questions about your health or physical limitations
Questions about your children, child care, or family plans

These questions can be phrased in the most seemingly innocent ways, such as Thats a beautiful diamond ring! Are you engaged? or they can be blunt Do you plan on having children in the next year? It all depends on the interviewer.

Regardless of how the question is asked, there are a couple of ways of dealing with the problem. Some are preferable over others.

Option 1 Reminding the interviewer that the question is inappropriate

In most cases, the interviewer asks these questions without malice. He or she doesnt plan on using the information against you. They might just be trying to break the ice.

If your first reaction is to point out that they question should never have been asked or to start making comments about the legality of the question, chances are youre not going to get that job. Employers dont want to hire people who are going to cause trouble at the drop of a hat. If you make a big deal about a question during the interview, theyll take it as a good sign youll cause more trouble as an employee.

Youre better off not taking this approach unless youve made up your mind not to work for this company.

Option 2 Answer the question briefly

Theres no harm in going ahead and answering the questions, but youll want to keep your answers brief. For example, if an interviewer asks you How does your wife/husband feel about you taking this position? then you could answer depending on your marital situation She/he is fine with it or Im not married. Theres no reason to go into any further details, such as how long youve been married or if youre in a serious relationship.

If the interviewer continues to ask follow-up questions that are inappropriate, such as How long have you been married? or Do you ever plan on getting married? then you may need to be more forceful. Simply smile and ask, Id be happy to answer your questions, but Im really not sure how my marital status relates to my ability to fulfill this position.

In my next article, I will explain other steps you must follow to answer inappropriate questions during a job interview in Canada.

Online Travel Business: The 4 Business Models

The Internet offers an effective means for developing a single and sustainable electronic infrastructure for information gathering and business transactions for both travellers and suppliers. It is an ideal method for people to source information on travel. It is an essential for travel-related Websites to offer useful, pertinent and easy-to-find information alongside a booking facility if appropriate.

It can be used to fully research a destination, book all aspects of the holiday including travel and communicate others who have the same ideas or have been through similar experiences. It gives travellers an excellent opportunity to compare and contrast everything on offer before they make a purchase.

The information available online is continually being reformatted and presented in a more logical, easy-to-use and read format. The volume of consumers that rely on this information to make travel-related decisions will therefore continue to rise. In addition, features and benefits of using the Internet to research and book holidays are improving and being added to all the time. For example, consumers no longer have to receive printed tickets from the travel operator. They simply print out any information that they require themselves after they receive it automatically via email.

The Net has meant that people can now easily plan trips for themselves. This has not only opened up a greater amount of discounts available to the general public, but also given people the fun and enjoyment of planning and booking their own trips.

Prior to the Internet, travel agents were the primary source of information and facilitating bookings within the travel industry. However, the onset of Net popularity has seriously impacted upon the future success of a telephone or face-to-face based travel agency. The Internet now allows individuals the ability to plan and book their own trips. It has revolutionised the travel industry as a whole and instigated a trend away from the customer using a travel agent.

There are four Internet business models that can be applied to the travel industry. The business models and examples of businesses within them are as follows:

1) The merchant model, which brings buyers and sellers together. It could be argued that this model is effectively an online travel agent. Websites in this business model category include Travelocity who have recently purchased LastMinute.com and Expedia an offshoot from Microsoft.

2) The advertising model, providing valuable travel information whilst generating revenue through various adverts. The significant advantage of this model is its low cost base. A website in this business model that provides information on the UK is TREKtheUK.com.

3) The direct model allows the service provider themselves to deal directly with the general public. First of all, British Airways is the longest established and has a large marketshare and conventional competitive advantage. Secondly, EasyJet have established the Internet as being key to their core competency.

4) The community model is one of the longest established operating models on the Internet without having a history of generating a significant revenue stream. Two websites reviewed that fall into this category are Lonely Planet based upon the books that have been published for more than thirty years, and VirtualTourist.com a community of individuals who have a passion for travel.

Although it can be argued that some websites are using a mixture of several business models, it is interesting to acknowledge that just because a business generates the majority of its revenue online, it doesnt mean that conventional business models cant be applied to them.

Buying A Home With Bad Credit

The worst thing about buying a home with bad credit isn't that it is that difficult. It is the fees and interest rates you'll have to pay for your home mortgage loan. Use the following techniques to repair that credit and so lower the rates you'll pay. If you can't take the time to do that, see part two for some other options.

Buying A Home With Bad Credit - Part One

If you have the time to do it, you can fix that bad credit, at least a little. This will not only make it easier to find a lender, but also get you a lower rate. Pay 2% less on that mortgage loan interest rate and you'll save more than $70,000 in interest over the years (based on a 30-year $140,000 loan). Here are some ways to fix that bad credit report.

First, see what's on it. To get access for free online, try a search for "free credit report." If you are denied credit based on a report from a local credit reporting agency, you can request a free credit report from that agency within 30 days. How do you fix what you see on the report?

If there is anything to dispute in the report, write a letter to the agency. Explain exactly what is incorrect, and they must investigate. Send copies of canceled checks or any other documentation by certified mail.

The agency has to (by law) contact the source of the disputed information. If they don't receive confirmation of the debt within 14 days, they have to delete the item, and send you an updated report. You can also demand that they send a corrected report to all creditors who received your credit report in the previous six months. This won't be done automatically, so be sure to demand it.

If the item is under $500, or over a year old, creditors often won't bother to respond. Thus, "fixing" a credit report is possible even if it is correct to begin with. You also have the right to dispute the item again after 30 days.

Longer-term, there are other things you can do to fix your bad credit. Stop charging things on credit cards. Don't have more than five credit cards. Keep balances to less than half the limits on the cards, even if this means transferring debt from one card to another. Stop making your credit score worse, and time alone will help (many items will be removed after seven years).

Buying A Home With Bad Credit - Part Two

Buying a home with bad credit doesn't mean you have to accept the high interest rates and fees of sub-prime lenders. You can buy a house in other ways. Here are some of them.

- Seller financing. Some sellers are willing to provide the financing for you to buy their home. Whether in the form of a "contract for sale" or an owner-carried mortgage, you may be able to make payments to the seller instead of the bank - and with no lending fees and lower interest.

- Lease option. If down payment is an issue, look for sellers willing to lease their house to you with an option to buy. Be sure that a portion of the lease payment applies towards the down payment for the home, and that you have enough time to prepare for the purchase. If, for example, only $200 of the rent applies towards the down payment, after two years you'll have just a $4,800 credit. Will that be enough? Will two years be enough time to correct your credit and save any additional money you'll need?

- Get creative. There are many creative ways to buy a home. In one case I know of, the landlord was anxious to move, so the buyer offered him full price and a decent interest rate for him to carry the financing, but with very little down. They closed in the first days of the month, so the small down payment came from the rents that were credited to the buyer. He moved into one of the units the following month.

- Reconsider your "bad credit." Limited income or a new job isn't the same as a bad credit score. Most banks won't even look at the income from your new business, for example, making it seem impossible for new business owners to get a loan. However, these days, banks really look at your credit score. If it is decent, you can get "no doc loans," which require no documentation of income.

You don't even need a job for these loans. A decent credit score - and nothing else - can get you up to 95% financing at many places now. Of course, depending on the credit score, the interest rate can be anywhere from 1/2% to 4% higher than conventional loans. Consider paying even higher interest to get a loan without fees if you will be able to refinance at a lower rate in the next year (perhaps once your new business hits that 2-year mark that bankers like to see).

Fortunately, buying a home with bad credit or even with no provable income, has become easier than ever.

Understand Motorcycle Racing

Understand motorcycle racing you see on TV

All the sports channels these days broadcast some sort of motorcycle racing event. They are so many that, at some point, you do not understand what is what, which is which. So, here is a short list of some popular types of motorcycle racing there are out there:

1. Road racing. The best known, since they are best represented by MotoGP and Superbike and by pilots like Valentino Rossi, Mick Duhan or Max Biaggi. This type of races take place on a circuit or on closed roads. Other events include Isle of Man TT, Macau Grand Prix and more.

2. Drag Racing. Sometimes also called sprints, these races involves two bikers riding from a start line, on a short distance, to the finish line. Illegal road racing usually use the same style of racing. These kind of races (drag racing, that is) do not see too much TV time, though.

3. Motocross. This is exactly like road racing, just on harder terrain. Of course, if they use ssuperbikes on circuits, you will see offroad bikes here. Another thing you will notice (besides the difference in the terrain, of course), is that you will see a lot of bikes "flying" around, because of the jumping style later years and advances in motorcycling suspension technology brought. TV sure loves this kind of races, since they are, along with road racing, the stars of TV motorcycling programs.

4. Enduro. Enduro racing tests the endurance of the pilot and the resistance of the bike on a set of different terrains and on a longer period of time than usual racing. Usually, it envolves laps of 10+ miles, on a period of time of 3 to 4 hours, even more. Of course, one of the most important event, though a Rally, is the Dakar Rally.

5. Trials. Ever seen the guys jumping around on their bikes on barrels and boxes? That is indoor trials. Usually, it involves a biker, a time limit and a set of obstacles that the biker has to overpass without puting either of his legs down and, often, without stoping the forward motion. Quite a race of skills, it has a huge fun base and following, coming close to extreme sports.

So, here is a short recap of the most important motorcycle types of racing. When you read sports section, when you watch sports show, you will usually see one of these above. Motopins.com is a site where you can add all the news you read and can read all the news others have found.

Motopins.com is a social news site for motorcycling fans. You can add here your own news and blog posts, while reading what the others thought it was interesting. Newborn Shih Tzu Puppies and Early Surroundings

Shih Tzu puppies begin to make noises shortly after their eyes open. They will also begin to try and get up and waddle around the whelping box at this time. Between 3 and 4 weeks you might want to provide new Shih Tzu puppies with a new safe daytime area for extra stimulation. A new larger area physically stimulates and mentally challenges newborn Shih Tzu puppies. Be sure the new area has good footing. Before this time the Shih Tzu dam may protest about moving her offspring. At about 3 or 4 weeks, however, usually the Shih Tzu dam will agree to a new spot. The dogs earliest ancestors that were related to the wolf actually utilized several den sites. The first den was used for whelping. The second den was always larger to provide the offspring with safe areas of exploration. Once Shih Tzu puppies are large enough to clamber out of the whelping box, they need an area large enough to clearly define sleeping, eating, playing and toilet areas.

If you are using your garage or basement to raise Shih Tzu puppies please check for conditions that can be dangerous or lethal. Stairwells can cause fatality if Shih Tzu puppies explore them and fall. Trapped ammonia fumes from urine are toxic. Heating systems, electrical panels and appliances require thorough checking before placing a litter nearby. A garage should be thoroughly cleaned. Physical objects, cleaning abrasives, stored gasoline, motor oil or paint must be removed.

A safe play area can be created by using a garages side door to the yard. Block the areas under and around the door from cold and dam drafts. Flooring should have a firm, no slippery surface.

Line your whelping box with clean soft blankets or towels in the beginning. If carpeting is used, it should be washable. Do not use indoor/outdoor carpeting. Manufacturing chemicals can react with urine. Use of these materials can cause burns to the bodies of Shih Tzu puppies. Do not use newspapers in the whelping box. Newspapers are slick and contain chemicals used in the ink. Do not use wood shavings in the whelping box. Wood shavings can be inhaled or ingested which also can cause fatalities.

When Shih Tzu puppies begin to move around inside the box, house-training can be stimulated by separating the whelping box into two areas, sleeping and eliminating. Even very young Shih Tzu puppies do not like to eliminate where they sleep, eat and play. Within a few days, puppies learn to move away from their sleeping area to eliminate. Use removable sides in the whelping box to encourage them to sleep in the whelping box and eliminating away from it. If you use a heat lamp, use it only in the sleeping and playing areas.

The Shih Tzu dam will require an area to close to her Shih Tzu puppies but a place where she can relax away from them.

Healthy Shih Tzu puppies will sleep on top of each other. Once out of the whelping box an small airline crate with the door removed makes an effective dog house for Shih Tzu puppies to rest and sleep with each other. This early use of an airline crate provides the new owner with several advantages. The newly arrived Shih Tzu puppy readily accepts the familiar airline crate as sleeping quarters, making the adjustment to a new home less traumatic.

Illinois Foreclosure Listing Tops 11,000 Addresses, Governor Steps In!

Illinois foreclosure listings represent the fourth highest in the country. California is at the top of the list with 32,500 followed by Florida with approximately 27,000 listings and Colorado at roughly 11,000 filings. Combined with Illinois, these four states account for 52% of all homes in foreclosure nationwide.

The staggering foreclosure rates in Illinois prompted Governor Rod Blagojevich to file amendments to HB 4050, the Illinois Predatory Lending Database Program. HB4050 protects consumers fight predatory lending practices by shifting focus on the lenders who offer non-traditional types of loans.

Under the proposed rules for HB 4050, Cook County first time homebuyers and owners opting to refinance their primary residence will be recommended for financial counseling if the loan they are considering contains any of the following provisions:

* Permits interest-only payments;
* Allows payments that results in negative amortization;
* Total points and fees payable by the borrower exceed 5% of the amount of the mortgage;
* Approval of the loan relies on the stated income of the borrower;
* A pre-payment penalty is included; or
* The financing transaction includes a second lien on the property, often known as an 80/20 loan.

HB 4050 main purpose is to alert consumers that subprime lending practices can lead to financial ruin. Todays housing market focuses so much on the credit history of the homebuyer, and with some homebuyers who have had past credit issues, spotty employment or not enough funds for a down payment --- some lenders have gone to great lengths to get their business. However, this practice is costing the same homebuyer way more than they can afford without them even realizing it. By enacting HB 4050, these same homebuyers will be instructed and informed regarding the types of loans available, the type of loan they are considering and what it means to their financial future. Many of these items are not currently provided by the lenders who practice subprime loan lending.

Luckily, Governor Blagojevich has an eye on his Illinois homebuyers and the lenders who serve the Illinois residents. Currently, HB 4050 is in the pilot program phase and is being piloted in Cook County. Illinois residents outside of Cook County should expect to see it offered to them also in the near future. The governors mission is to see the Illinois foreclosure listings numbers drop and this is a great start to realizing that mission.

Planning Your Trip to Europe

Plan Ahead for Travel to Europe

A few tips that could help you are:

1. Plan sooner, not later. Now is the time to get the best prices, the best seats, and the best schedules. Delays limit your options. Check out promotional offers through airlines and travel agencies and remember to use those frequent flier miles!

2. Get necessary documents ready. Make sure your passport is current. Find out if any countries on your itinerary require a visa for entry. For those that do, request visas well in advance of the trip to avoid last-minute delays. Bring copies of your birth certificate, immunization records, and driver's license. They aren't required in most European countries, but they will help to identify you if your wallet or passport are lost or stolen.

3. Go to the doc for an exam. Ask if there are any areas of Europe under any kind of health alert. Bring your records, prescriptions, and immunizations up-to-date. Get instructions for any chronic ailments that may be problematic. See your pharmacist to assure you have sufficient quantities of medications for the trip as getting refills in Europe could prove difficult.

4. When planning your Europe itinerary, get complete information about hours of operation for sites or departure and arrival times for tours and transportation. Get information on currency exchange rates, what common terms would be useful to recognize in the languages of the countries you're visiting, locate maps of the areas you're travelling in, and any other information you feel you need to insure an efficient and satisfying trip. You may want to get a book or two from the library about the countries you'll be seeing. Getting a recording for language study is also a good idea. Like everything else suggested here, do these things long before you depart for Europe.

Payday Loans What You Must Know!

Sometimes when things become a little tough, we do things without too much thought. Usually because we want to put the tough thing behind us and move on. This can result in jumping in on payday loans and regretting it later. Payday loans aren't all that evil as long as you know what you're getting into and you take some time thinking about actually doing it and how you'll later terminate the loan.

To begin with, payday loans arent always a good choice! Dont get tricked by the ads from the mall, radio, television or Internet. Even if you desperately need some cash until your payday, you should consider all the alternatives first. In my opinion, a brief definition for payday loans is expensive cash.

Payday loans are short-term cash loans. The amount of money that can be borrowed regularly ranges from $100 to $1,000, and it depends on the laws of each state. The average term is about two weeks. Payday loans are made by check cashers, finance companies, payday loan stores, and others. They are also designated as cash advance loans, check advance loans, deferred deposit check loans or post-dated check loans.

This is how it usually works: the borrower writes a personal check for the sum borrowed plus a fee and he receives the amount he or she wishes minus the fee. Fees are regularly a percentage of the value of the check, but they can also be a fixed value charged per a specific amount (like $15 for each $100 borrowed). When the next payday comes, the borrower can redeem the check for cash. Otherwise, he can pay the finance charge again and roll the loan for another two weeks.

To get an idea of how expensive payday loans are, you must know that this type of loan costs on average 470% APR (annual interest), while the APR a credit card is rarely higher than 60%.

Lets assume you want to make a payday loan for the amount of $300, the loan fee is of $17.50 per $100, and the loan term is 14 days. Therefore, in order to redeem the check you have to pay $352.50 when the 14 day period is over. You can pay it by cash or you can allow the check to be deposited at the back. If you still dont have this money, you must pay the fee of $52.50 to renew the loan for another loan period. This means that borrowing $300 for a month will cost you $105. Thats not cheap at all! By comparison, a $300 cash advance on an average credit card, repaid in one month, would not cost you more than $15.

All you need to get a payday loan is an open bank account and a steady source of income. However, lenders are not necessarily interested to find out if the borrower can afford to repay the loan. If you dont pay the loan, it becomes an uncovered check in your bank account. If you fail to repay it, you will get a bounced check fee from the lender and from the bank. You will receive negative ratings on specialized databases and because of this you might lose your bank account and have difficulty in opening a new one.

Because of the very high cost to borrow and the short repayment terms, the consumers sometimes tend to be trapped in repeat borrowing cycles. Reports show that almost 60% of all loans made every day are either loan renewals, or loans taken out by the same consumer immediately after paying off the last one.

Payday loans with three-digit interest rate are prohibited in twelve states in the USA, where they are considered to be small loans or usury caps.

The internet payday lending has become very popular lately. You can apply online and loans are directly deposited into your bank account. When the payday comes, the amount of money youve borrowed is electronically withdrawn. If you choose to renew the payday loan, the finance charge is electronically withdrawn from your account.

Here is a suggestion in order to avoid getting a payday loan. First of all, shop carefully! If you really need that money, try to get an advance on pay from your employer or borrow the money from family or friends, at least you can do this for free (usually). Figure your daily and monthly expenditures, and try to avoid unnecessary purchases. You should also build some saving, so that there will be no need to borrow money for unexpected expenses or emergencies. If you still decide you want to use a payday loan, make sure you dont borrow more than you can pay with your next paycheck.

Acrylic Store Fixtures - The Basics

You've just landed the contract to design the interiors of a new chain of bric-a-brac retail stores and are now looking at various alternatives that you can suggest to your customer. After visiting a few well-known stores across town, you find that the most popular store fixtures seem to be in acrylic.

But why use acrylic? There are several distinct advantages that acrylic has over other materials:

Durability: This is the main advantage. Basic store fittings will need to have a shelf life of at least a year preferably more. They will also need to be safe against an elbow that knocks against them accidentally or a child that is attracted to a colorful display. In fact, in terms of durability, Acrylic is much longer lasting, especially when compared to lacquered or varnished hardwood.

Lifetime Guarantee: Many acrylics come with a lifetime guarantee, thereby lowering your costs. You will also not have to keep too many spares to replace broken pieces.

Strength: Acrylic looks deceptively fragile, but it can support a great deal of weight. In most stores, product size is not necessarily proportionate to weight. The same acrylic stands could be used to display something big and heavy as well as light or small. Acrylic also high-impact resistant.

Flexibility: This is a wonderful quality that makes acrylic useful for any kind of display stand. It can be molded into any shape and have rounded or square corners.

Optical Clarity: This quality makes acrylic suitable for all kinds of cases and stands. The transparency of the material will not detract from the items being displayed. They will also give the entire display a much 'lighter' and uncluttered feel. Plate glass has a dark green tint along the edge of the sheet, whereas acrylic sheets are clear.

Lightness: The lightness of acrylic makes it easy to move display units around. They will also add minimal weight to the shelves on which the merchandise is being displayed.

Duplicability: The flexibility of the material also makes it comparatively easy to duplicate standard pieces. A chain store needs to have standardized display units in all of its stores. Acrylic is the ideal material for this. If the store needs to expand, it will not be difficult to make additional display units to match the original ones. Acrylic has become a very popular material - so it is comparatively easy to get someone to make exactly what you want.

Disadvantages

Using acrylic for store fixtures has only one disadvantage:

Scratch Resistant: This is the main disadvantage of acrylic it scratches easier than glass. The way around this, however is to rub a good grade of paste wax into the acrylic. This will make the scratches 'disappear' and the stand will look as good as new!

There are 7 advantages to 1 disadvantage of using acrylic. This in itself speaks volumes about the suitability of acrylic for making display units. If you want to display your products to their maximum potential, use acrylic and you can't go wrong.

Tim Pelcone consults with retail store owners to improve their merchandising effectiveness. In Sacramento he recommends Capitol Store Fixtures, http://www.csfixtures.com, for the best selection in acrylic retail store displays.Priscella Blog53647

Carpet Cleaning Tips For Your Home

To keep your rugs looking clean and fresh there are a few carpet cleaning tips you can use to insure a long life. Stain cleaners and odor eliminators may have a specific use, and if used incorrectly can actually damage your carpets.

One of the best carpet cleaning tips is to thoroughly vacuum your rugs on a weekly basis. To do this effectively, a high-power vacuum cleaner needs to be passed slowly over the entire carpet. No matter how strong a suction that is provided, passing it too quickly will not pick up all the dirt.

Divide the carpet into fourths, cleaning one section at a time before moving to the next section, operating the vacuum both ways until cleaned. These carpet cleaning tips will remove practically all the dirt, which can cause damage to the fibers of the carpet.

Stain removal is another situation where good carpet cleaning tips can come in handy. Many people make the mistake of using a soap-based cleaner and too much liquid on stains. This actually may allow the stain to return or create new ones. Soap-based cleaners, once dry, will still offer a degree of cleaning, this time to shoes and other products with which it comes into contact.

Some Cleaners Help Stain Re-emerge

The soap will remove dirt from the shoes, leaving it on the carpet. Liquid cleaners, used in excess, will allow the stain to soak into the bottom of the carpet or even into the pad underneath. The stain may appear to be gone, but the liquid will be soaked up from underneath and will probably make the stain reappear. Carpet Cleaning Tips rely on cleaning the carpet and not trying to clean it from underneath.

Liquid spills should be blotted with a towel immediately. Otherwise, they could be soaked into the bottom of the rug. Pet urine can be especially damaging to carpets as it can cause the color dyes to be removed, leaving a bleached-out spot. A solution of one teaspoon of mild detergent and one teaspoon of white vinegar mixed with a quarter of water can help eliminate the stain.

Most carpet cleaning tips involve not rubbing the stain, which can spread the spot and make it bigger, rather blot the stain. By using a clean towel, place it over the spot and either stand on it for a few seconds or place a heavy object on it to soak up as much of the liquid as possible. For specific carpet cleaning tips for a variety of situations visit www.home.howstuffworks.com.

The Farrell Clan History

Farrell being, by far, the most common spelling is thus the name for the clan is the Anglicized form of the Gaelic name Fearghail (fear man + gal valour), (source: "A Dictionary of Surnames". Oxford, 1994.), King of Conmacne who was slain by the Danes in A.D. 1014 at the Battle of Clontarf (NE Dublin).

The O'Fearghails were one of the four chief clans of the Conmacne {race of Conmac (son of legendary Fergus MacRoigh and Queen Maedhbh (Maeve)}. They were the princes of Annaly (roughly the Irish midlands); their chief seat of power was Longphort Ui' Fearghail (O'Farrell's fortress) (present-day Longford town). (source: "Farrell Clan-a brief history" by Hugh Farrell).

The clan lost most of their lands during the colonial confiscations of James I in the early 17th century, with many of the clan members becoming tenants of the new English and Scottish landlords in what was now County Longford.

The Farrells have been associated with this midland region for almost 1,000 years. The Farrell Clan lost its control of the area just over 300 years ago when they were forced to take flight and lived abroad for 150 years, before returning to an uncertain future, the majority settling in County Longford and others settling elsewhere. Farrells are presently plentiful in the county, but the big numbers live elsewhere, mostly in Dublin.

http://www.farrellclanireland.com

The Farrell Clan is a voluntary committee which was formed in 1992 to research into Farrell history and seek support for this work by recruiting Irish kinsmen who share a common name or ancestry. Most of its time and energy is devoted to this work and in turn promotes contact between Farrells worldwide. In this regard the committee is playing its part in the preservation of Irish values and culture. http://www.farrellclanireland.comOlly Blog69329

Brighton Travel Information & Tourist Guide

The City of Brighton and Hove is a modern, vibrant, cosmopolitan City by the Sea, situated between the beautiful South Downs and the Sussex Coast approximately 60 miles due south of the United Kingdom capital, London.

Brighton has long been one of the UKs biggest and most fashionable seaside towns and is a popular tourist resort with many hotels, restaurants and entertainment facilities together with a considerable business conference industry.

Originally known as the modest fishing village of Brighthelmstone, this city has strong connections with the past with its regency architecture, Victorian Sea Life Centre, Brighton Pier, and of course The Royal Pavilion. By 1825 after Dr Richard Russell extolled the virtues of bathing in and drinking seawater, Brighton was born as a fashionable seaside resort.

Now it is a contemporary metropolis, with diverse shopping from Churchill Square and Western Road, to The Lanes and bohemian North Lanes, London Road and St James Street, Church Street and George Street in Hove. There is a new state of the art Library, restaurants, bars and clubs to suit every taste, theatres, cinemas, 10-pin bowling and casinos. In addition there are 2 universities, and a wide variety of sporting activities, including successful cricket, and football teams, and even a racecourse and greyhound stadium.

Another unique and historical attraction is Volks Railway, the oldest operating electric railway in the world. Created in 1883 by Magnus Volk, this 1 mile track links the Aquarium and Pier with Brighton Marina, with a half way stop near the childrens playground.

This year Brighton & Hove have been awarded its first ever Blue Flag award for its beaches at Hove Lawns and West Street. These guarantee that they are litter free and have clean swimming water. There is also a discreet naturist beach at Dukes Mound near Brighton Marina.

After a visit to Brighton Pier what better way to continue than with a stroll along the beachfront and down to the boardwalk. Here you can find the artists quarter and fishing museum. There is a traditional carrousel and various bars, clubs and restaurants under these historic arches. Further along the seafront you will discover a childrens playground, paddling pool and volleyball court.

From here you come face to face with the remaining wreck of the West Pier. This was originally built in 1866, has been lying derelict since 1975, and was destroyed by arson attacks in 2002. Although certain pieces from this Grade I listed building were removed and have been kept in storage.

However, the exciting news is that work is due to commence at the end of July on this site for the groundbreaking Brighton Eye. To be built at the shore end of the wrecked pier, the i360 (as it is also known) will have a 172 meter high needle tower, with an ascending and descending circular viewing platform with a capacity for 125 people. It will be Britains highest observation tower with breathtaking views along the coast, across the South Downs and across the Channel. Completion of this exciting and innovative construction is scheduled for 2009.

Inexpensive Car Insurance - Six Secrets

I learned a lesson about inexpensive car insurance when I was younger: Insurance agents lie. I would love to be able to say this is rare, but my experience tells me it is depressingly common. Apart from lying, they just won't tell you some things you need to know to save money.

Car insurance was just a legal requirement as far as I was concerned. I didn't have valuable cars when I was young, and I had no assets to protect from lawsuits. All I wanted was the minimum legal coverage needed to be on the road. I always made this very clear to my insurance agents, using many rephrasings, like "Just what the law requires, and nothing more," just to be sure they understood.

I assumed that this minimum was what my insurance company was giving me. Only after paying the premiums for many years did I learn that they had lied. I didn't have the most inexpensive car insurance policy, as they claimed. They gave me not the minimum coverage required by law, but their own "company minimum." I was pissed off.

I went to other insurance companies and they tried to do the same thing, passing off their own normal liability policies as the state-mandated minimum requirements. Only when I pushed would they provide the policy that I wanted - as long as I signed more paperwork, acknowledging that I was "under-insured." That was fine. I had no assets to protect at the time (Having few assets means you're less of a target for a lawsuit).

The bottom line is that by commission and omission, you will likely be lied to by insurance agents. I overpaid by hundreds of dollars over those years, because of one such lie. Now you know what to watch for if you just want a basic liability policy. Here are some other things you should know about getting inexpensive car insurance.

Secrets Of Inexpensive Car Insurance

- Get several quotes, of course. The important part here, though, is to be sure that each quote is for the same thing. Write down and compare the specific policy limits, deductible and a other parts of the policy.

- Review your policies annually. Ask for a policy review and get new quotes every year or so. Suppose that speeding ticket you had is past the three year mark (or whatever the company guideline is). They will often "forget" to drop the rate, so you may need to remind them.

- Take the kids off your policy. If your kids are at a college that's more than 100 miles away, you can have them taken off the insurance policy and save a lot of money. You can't let them drive the car when they come home to visit though.

- Raise your deductible. You will always get more inexpensive car insurance with higher deductibles. Plan to pay the first $1,000 of that accident if it happens someday. In the meantime, you may save far more in premiums over those years.

- Drop collision coverage. Once the value of your car is below a certain amount (an amount you can afford to lose), drop the collision coverage. It doesn't make sense to pay out thousands over a few years to insure a car that is worth just a few thousand.

- Ask about special discounts you might be eligible for. Non-smoker discounts, car/home policy discounts, and others are a possibility. Ask what discounts you may be eligible for in the future, too, and remind your agent when the time comes.

-Look at every part of the policy, and don't pay for things you don't need. Ask about anything you don't fully understand. Asking a lot of questions and really understanding the policy is one of the surest ways to get inexpensive car insurance.

Atlanta Schools Wellness Workshop Project is part of a broad program that aims to provide both fitness and nutrition strategies for students and staff in all Atlanta Schools. Innovative strategies that will be used include yoga classes for teachers and students, vegetarian cafeteria lines, and walking trails. The overall plan was developed by the Atlanta Schools Board of Education. The Board of Education will offer guidelines on how to implement the program and how the schools will be evaluated.

A major part of the plan is establishing wellness councils. These councils will be comprised of teachers, parents, administrators, students, and community and business partners. The council will assist Atlanta Schools in integrating nutrition and physical education into the current curriculum. The wellness council will also have a presence at events throughout the Atlanta Schools.

Recently, Atlanta Schools wellness plan received a boost from the involvement of an Atlanta Schools parent. Linton Hopkins has two children attending E. Rivers Elementary School. Hopkins is concerned about the nutritional value of cafeteria offerings at the E. Rivers Elementary School but unlike other parents, Hopkins is the executive chef of Atlantas Restaurant Eugene and winner of this years Atlanta Iron Chef competition. Hopkins has joined the Local School Wellness Council to help evaluate the schools cafeteria. Hopkins isnt the only trained chef to join the E. Rivers Elementary Schools wellness council. Elisa Gambino, owner of pasta emporium Via Elisa, has along with eleven other parents joined the wellness council. Parental involvement is an important element to the success of the wellness councils. Currently, approximately 90 percent of Atlanta Schools elementary and 65 percent of high schools have parents actively involved with the wellness council of their school.

4 Steps To Making Easy Daily Cash A Reality

There are a lot of people online who are trying to make money from the Internet. Anyone can have a home business of his or her own. However, making money is not as easy as a lot of people make it sound. There are certain things that you need to do in order to make easy daily cash. What are these steps that you need to know to make this a reality in your life?

First, you need to find a business opportunity that other people will want to join. It must have great products or services. The program must be something that a lot of people will want to join and start their own home business. You also need to make sure that the company behind this opportunity knows what they are doing. Here is where step two comes in.

Second, you need to find someone who is already earning easy daily cash in his or her business who can then mentor you. The person or company that you start your business with needs to have a marketing system in place that is easily duplicated by everyone who joins the business or there will be no point in trying to make your business a success. They also need to know how to train you to make the kind of money that they are.

Third, one important thing that is always overlooked by a lot of people who are trying to make money online is that you need to set up lead capture pages. When you are not capturing other peoples information you are leaving a lot of prospects and money on the table. Most people have to see an opportunity 4-7 times before they will sign up for it. By capturing their information you will be able to get them looking at your opportunity for as long as it takes them to decide to join.

Fourth, one other thing that you need to remember is to treat your business as a business and not a hobby. By treating it as the business that it is you will be setting yourself up for success. By treating it as a hobby you will be just playing around with making a little bit of money but not the daily cash that you are wanting. So take your business seriously and treat it as such.

These are four easy steps that you need to follow if you are going to make easy daily cash online. It can be done if you learn how to do it the correct way. You can have your dream of earning daily cash and finally having the financial freedom that you have always dreamed of.

Summary: Is it possible to make easy daily cash online with your own home business? Yes it is definitely possible. There are a lot of people online who are doing this on a daily basis. You just have to learn how to do it correctly.

Noise In Air Purifiers

The sale of air purifiers across the United States has skyrocketed over the past few years. With research showing that indoor air pollution is 2 to 10 times more than outdoor pollution, there are valid reasons for people to get worried. The only option they now have to deal with the pollution is to install air purifiers in their homes.

Air purifiers are mainly of two variants the ionic air purifier and the HEPA air purifier. The technology in the two are different and so is the method they work. An ionic air purifier just draws the neutrally charged particulates to the charged plates inside the purifier. This technology ensures that there is little or no sound during the cleansing process.

A HEPA air purifier works on a completely different principle where a filter is used to collect pollutants from the air. To do so a fan revolves at high speed to draw in the air form the room and the pollutants floating in the air gets deposited on the filter. The HEPA filters are effective for particulates as small as 0.3 microns. It would make sense here to pint out that the width of human hair is about 100 microns.

However there is a drawback to the HEPA air purifier. While at work the HEPA ones actually produce some sound which can be annoying for many. The sound is produced because of the fan inside revolving at high speed. While for some it would not be too much of a bother, and some even may actually like the white noise produced, there would be individuals who will hate a constant buzzing sound.

When you are buying an air purifier you expecting some clean air, and not a gadget which produces inconsistent noise. You can obviously do something to tackle this problem. When we buy air purifiers we take a note of our room size. Now, if we buy a purifier which just has the capacity to clean our room then we must have it working to its utmost. This means that fan will always be revolving at the highest speed. The result would be the noise.

However, if we take a purifier with the capacity of cleaning a 800 square feet room for a room of size 200 square feet, then we can always have the fan inside the purifier work at low or medium levels. This will result in less noise. The purifier, all of a sudden will sound quieter. The only thing that would be of concern is the size of the purifier might be too big for the room.

Sony Ericsson P990i: The Perfect Smartphone

The Sony Ericsson P990i is a Smartphone for tech savvy consumers and professionals. At the first glance, the P990i looks similar to the P900 as it bears a strong resemblance to earlier handsets in the same series. The wide array of features include text and multimedia messaging, notepad, a voice recorder, a stopwatch, and a full Opera web browser.

To get your emails straight to your phone, the P990 also supports push e-mail for the BlackBerry via the BlackBerry Connect solution; you can also connect via SMTP, IMAP4, and POP3 accounts. The 2 mega pixel camera comes with an autofocus, digital zoom, photo light and the bright TFT screen and video recording provide an excellent imaging experience. With a macro mode, autofocus, flash and a decent range of filters, the handset offers fairly good quality snaps.

The tri-band P990i runs on the much-anticipated Symbian 9.1 Operating System. It is one of the few capable Wi-Fi-capable handsets. For connectivity, Bluetooth, infrared and Wi-fi are all present.

There is an internal memory of 80MB, stereo FM radio with RDS (Radio Data System); and a supplied 64MB Memory Stick PRO Duo. The integrated music player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, and WAV files. The Bitch, Being Gay, Blackpool Pride, and Binge Drinking!

Well Darlings,

It seems to me the world is becoming more confusing by the minute. Across the pond, in New York, a strange phone poll has emerged. The Community Health Survey, an annual telephone survey of New York residents, has discovered that there are more men who classify themselves as being "normal" heterosexual males having sex with other men in the city than there are those who see themselves as being gay. The figures appear to show that three times as many "straight" New York men are having sex with other men than their gay counterparts.

There have been other surveys in the past that have shown that far more US men have sex with men than identify as gay one found that although 9% said they were gay or bisexual, half as many again (14.3%) had actually had sex with other men - but this is the first time that a study has shown there are more straight men than gay ones doing it with men.

Just when you thought you had it all worked out!

I'm glad to see one young man has it all worked out. David Bridge, a 15-year-old gay boy, put on a tiara and a long dress and became the new carnival queen for a Somerset town. Thousands of Axbridge locals lined the streets to cheer our hero after he beat three girls for the title of Blackberry Queen. Well done, David! And well done Axbridge! Out in the sticks hasn't meant being behind the times for this town!

Here in Blackpool things are kicking off already in preparation for Blackpool Pride 2007. The official website has been launched - http://www.prideblackpool.com - you all pop along there now and have a gander. Do put your sunglasses on first though, it's as camp and colourful as a Pride should be! And next week (Friday 6th October) there will be Press Releases issued and a load of news appearing on the website and in local newsletters etc. I'm bursting to tell you all about it now, but I mustn't - you'll have catch it on the Pride site next Friday!

Something else to put in your diaries: on Saturday 27th January at 8pm Blackpool's Grand Theatre plays host to the audience partici . . . pation Sing-a-Long-a Rocky Horror Picture Show, with their bars open from 7pm till very late. The campest cult classic of all time (not having an airing often enough these days, I reckon) gets what it has always been screaming for - the full sing-a-long-a treatment. Fancy dress is recommended (there's even a competition), and Riff Raff are welcome! Don't forget to bring all the accessories! What a night! Drag it up for the theatre, and then drag yourselves around our fabulous gay scene afterwards! See you there, it's not too far to come - it's just a jump to the left, and a step to a great night!

You must remember how not too long ago Sir Ian McKellen suggested that "Gay" should be superseded by "Gorgeous" since the latest street talk uses the presently adopted word derogatorily, mustn't you? Well, last week the Liberal Democrat Youth and Students (LDYS) launched a campaign to stop homophobic bullying in schools, and at the centre of the campaign are hundreds of pink badges bearing the satirical slogan Homophobia is Gay. The badges, which we're told will be available to new students through 150 dedicated LDYS stalls and are also being sent to freshers fairs all around the country, are part of a larger Liberal Democrat campaign which calls for the Education and Inspections Bill to be amended. They want elements of the bill to be changed, and for teachers to be trained in how to tackle homophobic bullying.

It's all commendable stuff, but I'm not too sure about those badges. What do you think? Somehow I can't see the word "gorgeous" working for homosexual males. Gay seems apt, and it has been around now for quite some time. It works. I think we should stick with it. Street slang changes fashion frequently - left alone, the derogatory usage of the word may be gone before we know it, so perhaps those badges weren't such a good idea. The everyday usage of a word can often have a limited lifetime.

The latest "in word" for the UK seems to be: diversity - it's like a plum in a councillor's mouth - but a word that is still bandied around a lot these days, often by some hopefully as a means of being seen to be tackling a serious problem, is: initiative. It's a word that now has no meaning to it - certainly not in its original and true sense - it has been abused. Just about every town and city in our country has had its "initiatives" to tackle various issues. A common one has been binge drinking.

Like Blackpool everyone will no doubt have suffered the obligatory photographs in their local press of senior police officers, councillors, and publicans all wallowing in self-congratulation at some initiative ceremony. And like Blackpool everyone will no doubt have noticed very little change. The promises of those initiatives - a common one: for the licenced premises not to offer stupid drink promotions - are apparently soon forgotten. You realise this as you have to side-step the giant A board standing outside a bar telling you just how much drink you can get for next to nothing should you choose to visit them that evening. The photographs of those grinning faces then leap back into your mind, and you begin to despair.

Licenced premises should survive on how good they are, on what they provide, and on what kind of a service it is that they can offer their punters. Their drinks should be priced fairly, and according to the market. I believe that the main attraction to any venue should never be the price of their drinks, or on how much a person can get down their neck there for the least amount of money. It should always be on how good is the venue. Until that is the case we shall never stop the binge drinking.

We must start believing that any venue unable to hold its own without pouring ridiculously priced drinks down the throats of its punters is not really worth a visit - that is, not unless you truly are a p*ss-artist! When the people all around you are going to get beyond being sociably merry and become a nuisance, a real pain - as they invariably do in these types of cheap liquor places, one is wise to enjoy one's evening elsewhere.

It's a sad reflection on the licenced industry that today so few publicans realise that stupid and regular drink promotions are only a short-term fix, and that they can be the nails in the coffin for many an establishment as their clientele base changes, until one day they find they are surviving only on the dregs of society. They have become no longer the place to go - the place to be seen. It's happened here in Blackpool before, once popular places have deteriorated into merely just surviving, and no doubt it has happened wherever in the world you are reading this. Had those much publicised "initiatives" been strictly adhered to, enforced throughout, then today many venues would be far nicer places to visit - and so too would many of our towns and cities!

Something to consider: there's many a young binge drinker who has never really had a great and enjoyable night out. They truly believe that what they do - getting rat-arsed and ill every night they can - is it. Most of us have been there and done that at some time or another. But for most of us it was very short-lived, wasn't it? We were able to discover that there was better out there. I feel it's such a shame that society today hasn't allowed a whole generation to do likewise, to be enlightened as we were, for it is society as a whole that has created the binge drinker - not the alcohol.

See you next week, Darlings . . . Hic!

So Long Cold Cruel Winter Expand Your Horizons

So long cold long winter. Long-stay vacations are exciting and now very affordable.

It used to be that for those who could travel and escape the winter clime that their options were rather limited. Not so now. The new buzzword for those of a certain age is the long stay vacation. The genre is wide and covers a multitude of possible styles and destinations. The common denominator however is the desire to escape the depths of winter. Who can blame them?

For years the destinations for winter snowbirds were the standards Arizona, Palm Springs and Texas and Nevada. However the rapidly rising dollar of the early 1990s made other destinations possible. The weak Australian currency, coupled with a low season for accommodation that started in late January encouraged some travelers to the warmth of the Australian Gold Coast for their winter.

In the Australian Gold Coast apartments are still a bargain, and range from $ 400 to $ 800, and coupled with an airfare of about $ 2000. Thus the math is simple and works out well, Go for it.

And now the world is yours. In a word why limit yourself. The world is your oyster so to speak. From South Africa to South America and more recently the Mediterranean Coast. Choices are plentiful, prices are reasonable and the weather always wonderful. Certainly better than back home at that time of year.

Probably, for those on a more modest budget looking for a destination that differs from the norm Portugal is a great destination.

Further field, but still around the Mediterranean the Adriatic Coast of Croatia is delightful with the ancient towns that ring the picturesque coast. Further south, the resorts in Tunisia offer a tremendous balance between the facilities of a bustling resort town with access to the desert to the enchanting culture and hospitality of the Middle East.

South America too, offers good options. Uruguay and its coast line sweeping northeast offer a number of pleasant beach towns. Most popular in Uruguay is Punte del Este , a mecca for both the worlds rich and famous but also home to a lot of family apartments. A peaceful place to hang ones hat so to speak. Uruguayans are charming and delighted to find international tourists are coming from farther afield than the traditional source of their tourism which used to be Argentinean based. To visit Uruguay is somewhat what it was like to visit Spain or Italy 25 years ago when the pace was unrushed and one could stay, enjoy and linger whether it is a long lunch or dinner or a stroll along the promenade.

Across the South Atlantic Ocean lies South Africa a country whose tourism industry has grown by leaps and bounds in the last five years. There are many condos available for rent along the beautiful, scenic coast, principally between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth that cost in the range of $ 1500 - $ 1900 a month. You can always use the condo as a base from which to stage wonderful weekend jaunts to either the wine country or to the game parks. Be reassured that flying to South Africa has become much more economical throughout the years with flights originating in European airports.

So long cold long winter. Long-stay vacations are exciting and now very affordable.
